Who builds the lessons?
I'm Akshat, the founder. I started teaching in Nepal eight years ago and went on to tutor at Macalester. My brother Abhigya studied at Oxford and is pursuing a maths PhD at UNC. We both tutor here, alongside two tutors with Maths Olympiad experience.

How does this fit with school?
Their tutor works on maths at their level. Missions give them another way to learn: speak, build, draw or experiment in a world shaped around their interests. Their tutor helps connect the two.
Is every mission the same?
No. We start with their interests and level, then use their work and their tutor's feedback to plan what comes next. A person reviews a new mission before it reaches your child.
What happens after you sign up?
Nothing is charged. You can expect an introductory call from our founder, to understand your needs and your goals for your child.
Do we need any equipment?
A laptop or tablet with a browser is enough to start. We'll tell you before a mission calls for anything else. The website also fits a phone; a larger screen gives them more room to draw and build.
Which mission do we start with?
The one your child leans towards. Tell us what they love and we pick the first one with you.
How old is this for?
Grades one to seven. We match the language, questions and activities to your child. Younger children can listen and choose pictures instead of reading everything.
Can this suit a child who finds it hard to sit with a worksheet?
Lessons are short, visual and interactive, with spoken stories and room to pause. Tell us what helps your child, including any attention or accessibility needs, so we can plan together. We don't promise treatment or a particular outcome for ADHD or other learning differences.
Do you work with families in St. Paul?
Yes. Our lessons and mentoring are online, including for families in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our founder Akshat studied and tutored at Macalester College. We're an independent programme, not a Macalester service. Meet us to discuss your child's level and a schedule that fits.
What will I actually see?
Their completed work in your family Book, with room for tutor notes. Open it together and ask them to show you how they worked it out.
Are there free resources for teachers?
The four previews above are free to share in class or for homework. Eligible K to 12 educators can also apply for Adobe Express for Education. It is a separate service with its own eligibility and accounts, not a Nell & Key integration.
Who owns what my child makes?
Your child does. Their work is not used to train AI models. Our privacy page explains what is stored and how to request deletion.
Can we stop?
Yes. Tell us, and we stop.
